Triple P Program
Triple P - the Positive Parenting Program - is one of the world's most effective evidence-based parenting programs, backed up by more than 35 years of ongoing research. Triple P gives parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children's behavior, and prevent problems from developing.
Newberry First Steps received a three-year grant from SC First Steps ESSER III funding to develop a Triple P program in Newberry County. Newberry First Steps began the first sessions in the summer of 2022.
Level 4 Group teaches strategies to deal with challenging behaviors and is for motivated parents interested in gaining a more in-depth understanding of Positive Parenting. It is available for parents of children from birth to 12 years and covers Triple P's 17 core positive parenting skills that can be adapted to a wide range of parenting situations.
Who we serve:
Families with at least one child aged 0-5 years.
Delivered as:
Groups of no more than 12 parents attend five sessions and are supported with three phone counseling sessions at home.
Target Outcomes:
Triple P has been shown to significantly and positively impact child behavior, improve parent skills, satisfaction, and confidence, and strengthen the relationship between parents.
